Mark first started working as a journalist as a way of breaking into broadcasting. He decided to focus on a topic he knew and loved: boxing!
His first foray into writing saw him submitting articles on a freelance basis to a popular boxing & MMA publication. They were impressed with Mark’s work, put his article on the front cover, and in time offered him the position of staff-writer. This in turn led to him becoming their subeditor – a role he held for many years.
During this time Mark also still did a bit of freelance writing and had work published in Fightsport Magazine. As his profile increased, he then had work published by Yahoo, Eurosport, Boxrec, Eastside Boxing, and others.
Mark has interviewed many world famous boxers such as Evander Holyfield, Frank Bruno, Steve Collins, Henry Wharton, and Bernard Dunne. His interview with Mike Tyson fell through when Tyson cancelled his trip to Ireland…
Today Mark occasionally writes for his own websites – once again about boxing, and has written a novel based on the character Paco Pedro.
